Team Updates
Team OR NJ Here is a list of a few things that are going on: Just in a few weeks we have tripled our membership and more people are joining each week. Now is the time to start getting our members to help some of our athletes get back in a competitive spirit. If you are interested in helping an athlete please let me know. Also, If you are looking for some help please feel free to contact me as well. We are all here to help one another and everyone should feel comfortable asking for help. Recently, we have taken over the Union American Legion building. This building will remain an American Legion but we are having a team therapy room and office built. We are getting a majority of the office equipment donated and should be able to have this office completed in a few months A few days ago we were able to get numerous pieces of equipment for disabled athletes and are beginning to work on our 2016 awareness campaign FEB - MARCH If you want a more active team role please contact me any time 973-332-1556

1. Feb 8th - having a meeting with all the township of Union community leaders 2. Feb 25th - hosting a veterans and team meeting at the union Vfw - all members are invited and encourage to attend 3. Feb 11th- We are speaking at the Fire convention and meeting with the Atlantic city Mayor for a possible south jersey head quarters 4. Feb ? or March? (date will be later determined) Getting recognized at the Statehouse and will be speaking about the team to all the elected officials 5. March 10th speaking at the PBA convention 6. March ? Need to work on FOX/CNN presentation and other media outlets for awareness looking for members to help with awareness and speak to numerous media groups 7. March - April Looking to goto some public and Special needs schools . Anyone interested please contact me We been working with a few members and are attempting to have two sanctioned runs set up! looking into a spring and fall event Team member Glenn Hartnick is hosting a 5k in Millburn and he could use volunteers to help. All money collected goes to Athletes with Disabilities. The event is in August ( i will get the date) Also, Glenn will be helping us with media and team recruitment . Team member Steve Giordano is looking for members to join him in the Gran Fondo bike ride in NYC, May 15th ! He has people willing to help assist our members with the 50 mile bike ride! This event is a great ride and if anyone is interested please lmk as soon as possible. Also, Steve is looking to host a few fun rides in Mendham near patriots path. ( bbq after the event) . This is our first year and I know we will make a huge impact with helping our athletes achieve their goals. Please feel free to email any of your upcoming events and ideas for the team!
